Sitefinity CMS Project – Fusion Car Audio
It took a while but we have finally finished our most complex project to date: Fusion Car Audio (www.fusioncaraudio.com).
First, a bit of back ground on this client. Fusion are 100% kiwi company and one of NZ’s largest electronics exporters. They primarily develop car and boat stereo head units, amplifiers, speakers and sub-woofers. They are particularly prevalent in the i-pod compatible market.
Their main export markets are UK, Russia, Spain and the tough US market. They wanted a new web site that really allowed them to “make some noise” and that’s what we gave them.
The client wanted to display different content in multi-languages depending on the location of the user. This was particularly challenging as we had not implemented this feature of Sitefinity before. We were however using the latest version of Sitefinity (3.2) and we knew some of the bugs had been ironed out.
As far as modules go, we managed to leverage some of the existing out-of-the box features with a few custom tweaks including the polls, where we added an image for each option, galleries and news. There are too many custom modules to mention here but we did up building about 12 or so custom modules from scratch. We also managed to integrate the built-in Sitefinity membership with our extensive dealer network database as well so all dealer permissions can be managed by Admin.
Of course, the most difficult aspect of this is the management of the content in multiple languages and the complexity of the database that goes with it.
But hey, we got there in the end, and now it is yours to enjoy, critique, pull to bits. Let us know what you think.
